Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital assignments in the Hampton Roads, VA area. Flexible day and night shifts available, with per diem pay and daily/weekly payment options. Schedule control lets you pick shifts that fit your life while working in leading acute-care hospitals.

Active VA RN license and 2+ years PCU experience required. BLS, ACLS, and TB test within 12 months; COVID-19 vaccination or exemption also needed.

Qualifications

• Active VA RN license required.
• PCU nursing experience of at least 2 years within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past year.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses.
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and PCU-specific equipment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital infection-control and safety guidelines.
• Educate patients and families.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.

Education

Active Virginia RN License

Current BLS - American Heart Association

Current ACLS - American Heart Association

Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test (within 12 months)

COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption

Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience (past 4 years)

Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
