Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. Choose shifts and build a schedule that fits your life, with day and night options and flexible hospital assignments.

Earn competitive per diem pay and enjoy daily or weekly pay options while working in leading acute care hospitals. Per diem nurses gain control over their schedule and can scale their work with personal availability.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
