Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center in Northern California is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care in the Ortho/Neuro Unit using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. This per diem role requires active CA RN licensure and BLS/ACLS; prior acute care and ventilator management are preferred.

The department emphasizes direct patient care, patient/family teaching, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicates with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
