Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX is seeking a per diem RN to provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The successful candidate will practice independently, apply the nursing process, and coordinate care for assigned patients.

Requirements include a BSN preferred, 1 year of related nursing experience, current ACLS and BLS certifications, and participation in orientation within 30 days of hire. Per diem schedule from 7AM to 7PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• BLS required.
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Meets CHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
• Administer meds and treatments; monitor side-effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, meds, and care.
• Assess learning needs; educate patients, families, and caregivers.
