Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a competent Registered Nurse for per diem/as-needed shifts in the acute care setting. The role emphasizes independent practice, nursing process, and patient education within a dynamic clinical team.

Candidates should have a BSN (preferred), 1 year of related nursing experience, and hold and maintain BLS, RN licensure (state or compact). Additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, and TNCC are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
