Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist. Under the supervision of the Critical Care Director and Respiratory Department Supervisor, the respiratory therapist provides respiratory care services per physician orders and department policies.

Responsibilities include delivering oxygen therapy, operating ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP and spirometry; plus chest physical therapy.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure or eligible.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• PALS certified within 90 days.
• Ability to use ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, IPPB, IPV, pulse oximetry, and bedside spirometry.
• Ability to perform chest PT.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and monitors for side effects.
• Sets-up and monitors mechanical ventilators and airway management, including suctioning.
