Job summary

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada is seeking a per diem Respiratory Therapist to deliver prescribed respiratory therapies across all ages. The role involves assessment, administration, and evaluation of treatments, and collaboration with physicians on treatment plans.

Responsibilities include extubations, airway management, and life support for critical patients, with potential patient transport as needed.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and successful completion of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist at time of hire.
• Nevada licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner at time of hire or within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by AHA.
• Nevada Blood Gas Technologist or Blood Gas General Laboratory Supervisor license required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy per protocol and physician orders for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Assess, administer and evaluate respiratory care treatments; coordinate with physicians on care plans.
• Perform extubations and airway management; provide life support to critical patients; may transport respiratory-impaired patients.
