Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute is seeking a dependable Per Diem Rehabilitation Aide to support our physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams. This non-clinical role assists with resident transportation, treatment-area preparation, equipment management, supplies, scheduling, and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, works well with others, and is committed to helping residents regain independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, healthcare, caregiving, or resident transportation preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible per-di​em schedule based on facility needs.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound judgment and a strong commitment to resident and workplace safety.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for therapy sessions.
• Follow resident-specific goals, precautions, and safety instructions during setup.
• Transport and prepare residents for therapy sessions under supervision.
• Assist with resident transfers as directed and according to safety procedures.
• Clean, disinfect, organize, and store rehabilitation equipment.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection-control and safety protocols.
• Communicate with therapists, supervisors, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate with therapists regarding scheduling needs.
• Report unusual occurrences, concerns, equipment problems, and safety issues.
• Submit logs and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Monitor rehabilitation documentation filing.
• Participate in denial-management activities to support claims processing.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Attend team meetings and training sessions.
• Assist with approved exercise, educational, and community programs.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and company information.
• Follow facility dress-code and professional conduct requirements.
