RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric ICU at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. The role involves delivering compassionate, age-appropriate care in the PICU, adhering to hospital and regulatory standards, and contributing to discharge planning and performance improvement.

Requirements include NJ RN license, BLS, PALS, and IV certification with at least 2 years PICU experience; orientation completion is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school or university.
• At least 2 years PICU experience in an acute care setting.
• Completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
• Successful completion of all orientation programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Pediatric ICU and participate in teaching, discharge planning, and unit performance improvement activities.
• Practice in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards of Practice, and applicable regulations.

Location: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039
Facility: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
Department: Pediatric ICU
Shift: Day
Pay Range: $67.79 - $77.52 per hour

Job Summary

Provide compassionate, comprehensive patient care in the Pediatric ICU, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and hospital policies.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate from an accredited school or university
• At least 2 years PICU experience in an acute care setting
• Completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
• Successful completion of all orientation programs

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon hire
• PALS certification
• I.V. certification from an approved facility

Scheduling Requirements

• Per Diem
• 2 – 12.5 hour shifts per month, both shifts on weekend
• 1 – 12.5 hour Summer Holiday (July 4th, Easter, Labor Day)
• 1 – 12.5 hour Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)

Essential Functions

Organize and administer individualized, age‑specific professional care to patients within the assigned unit, supporting medical care and participating in patient teaching, discharge planning, and unit performance improvement activities. Practice in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements, and other regulatory agencies.
