Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Pulmonary Function Technologist - Lake Success.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure. Schedules patients for testing. Performs FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required.
• Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function Tests. Reviews folders on a daily basis to ensure efficient turnaround of patient reports.
• Performs Methacholine Challenge testing for WUH attendings and private attendings. Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to ensure optimal utilization of Provocholine.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify you must have an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; RRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapist license OR Registered by NBRC (CRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician license OR NBRC CPFT certification. Experience in Pulmonary Function Lab highly desired. Computer competency, including basic understanding of Microsoft Windows-based pulmonary function software programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills. Able to perform all aspects of Pulmonary Function Testing.
