NYU Langone Health seeks a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (FGP) for the Manhattan Center for Women's Health. You will deliver and coordinate prescribed pulmonary function testing, calibrate equipment, and support patient care across the lab, ensuring accurate results and compliance.

The role requires NBRC credentials (RRT/CRT/CPFT) with NYS licensure, strong communication, and proficiency with Windows-based PFT software.

Formación

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• NBRC credentials (RRT/CRT/CPFT) and NYS license or CPFT certification with NYS credentials.
• Computer competency with Windows-based pulmonary function software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Delivers and coordinates diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
• Calibrates and operates laboratory equipment for PFT.
• Assesses patients and manages aerosols and emergencies in PFT.
• Ensures smooth pulmonary function laboratory operations and staff instruction.
• Provides education to laboratory staff, patients, family, nurses, physicians, and students.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (FGP) - Manhattan, Center for Women's Health.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for ensuring and coordinating delivery of prescribed pulmonary function testing services through direct performance of laboratory studies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates knowledge of accepted standards, policies, procedures, staff responsibilities and instrumentation related to provision of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the calibration and operation of laboratory equipment and performance of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient assessment, clinical aerosol delivery and emergency management procedures related to performance of diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
• Demonstrates proficiency in pulmonary function laboratory operations.
• Provides appropriate instruction/education to laboratory staff, patients, family members, nurses, physicians, affiliated students, and other members of the Medical Center community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, required.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; RRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapist license OR Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; CRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician license OR Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification for Pulmonary Function Technology (CPFT).
• Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Licenses:

Cert Pulmon Func Tech (CPFT), Respiratory Therapy Tech-NYS, Resp Thrpst License-NYS, Natl Respiratory Therapy Reg

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in respiratory care, cardiorespiratory sciences or related area as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy.
• Two years full-time acute care hospital PFT laboratory experience
• Experience in Pulmonary Function Lab highly desired.
• Flexibility to work at various locations.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $60.00 - $65.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
