Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is part of NYU Langone Health. We seek a Per Diem Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (FGP) to join the Manhattan float pool, coordinating and performing pulmonary function testing and supervising staff as needed.

The candidate will perform CP testing, manage equipment, and schedule procedures while meeting NYS licensing requirements. This is a per diem position with benefits and inclusion in a comprehensive wellness program.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent in respiratory care as recognized by NYS is required.
• CPFT certification within a year of hire is required.
• Computer competency with Windows-based pulmonary function software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing including FVL, FVC, lung volumes, DLCO, MVV as required.
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Maintains testing equipment and generates paperwork for interpretation of tests.
• Performs Methacholine Challenges and schedules patients for optimal utilization.

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (FGP) - Manhattan, Float.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for ensuring and coordinating delivery of prescribed pulmonary function testing services through direct performance of laboratory studies and supervision of pulmonary function laboratory staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing including FVL, FVC, lung volumes, DLCO, MVV as required. Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Maintains testing equipment. Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function tests.
• Performs Methacholine Challenges. Efficiently schedules patients. Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to insure optimal utilization of Provocholine.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent in respiratory care as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy, required.
• New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license or Respiratory Therapist Technician license, certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT), with CPFT specialty credential within a year of hire, required.
• Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64.46- $65.00Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
