Job summary

Aston Group in Florida is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for per diem placement in a skilled nursing facility. You will assist with therapeutic exercises, promote mobility, and support the rehabilitation journey of residents.

Under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will contribute to resident care, documentation, safety, and collaboration with the care team to enhance daily functioning.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or license in Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly or rehabilitating residents.
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
