Job summary

Aston Group in Florida is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team on a per diem basis. You will assist residents with rehabilitation, support mobility, and contribute to individualized treatment plans under a licensed Physical Therapist.

This role emphasizes teamwork with nursing and therapy colleagues, documentation of progress, and educating residents and families about home exercises.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PTA program is required.
• Current Florida PTA license or certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
