Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson - Acute Rehab Unit in Festus, MO is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Physical Therapist in delivering therapy per the supervising plan of care. The role includes documenting progress, modifying procedures as patient status changes, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The PTA will support the PT, provide direction to the PT aide, and coordinate workload while addressing age-specific patient needs in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree.
• Licensure: Currently licensed in the state of practice or holding a state-authorized temporary permit/license, where applicable.
• Experience: PTA may be entry-level.
• Certifications: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy and related tasks as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document patient progress notes and safety issues.
• Modify treatment procedures within the plan of care as patient status changes.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate workload in the department.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients and report patient safety concerns as identified.
