Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson – Acute Rehab Unit in Festus, MO is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist the Physical Therapist in delivering patient-focused rehabilitation. The PTA will document progress notes and adjust procedures under supervision, ensuring safety and respect for patients and families.

The role supports the department's plan with age-appropriate care, reports safety issues, and coordinates workload with the PT aide.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree is required.
• Licensure: Currently licensed in the state of practice or holding a state-authorized temporary permit/license.
• Experience: PTA may be entry-level.
• Certifications: Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy and related tasks.
• Document patient progress notes.
• Modify treatment procedures within the plan as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Coordinate workload and provide direction to the Physical Therapy aide.
• Address age-specific needs and ensure patient safety and comfort.
