St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomy Technician I to perform venipuncture and specimen collection under supervision. You will handle data entry, patient interaction, and logistics for specimen processing in a busy clinical laboratory.

The role requires CPT I certification, a high school diploma, and BLS within 45 days. Experience in a clinical lab is preferred; position offers evening shifts and competitive compensation with potential for varied duties.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPT I certification.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs venipuncture or skin puncture on patients of all ages for blood specimens.
• Maintains accurate computer data entry and filing; handles clerical duties.
• Demonstrates professional communication with patients and visitors.
• Performs phlebotomy following proper technique and safety protocols.
• Processes specimens across microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank.
• Coordinates specimen referrals to reference laboratories.
• Stocks routine supplies and maintains storage areas.
• Cleans and maintains centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers and work areas.
• Loads specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation as per policy.
• Assists with sample pickup, sorting for analysis, inventory, orders, and related tasks.
