Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Formal phlebotomy training or documented on-the-job training is required.
• Certification as Phlebotomy Technician is preferred.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and kept current.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages for blood specimens.
• Handle computer data entry, filing, and telephone communication.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory test terminology and proper phlebotomy techniques.
• Collect specimens from newborns to geriatric patients and process for analysis.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and replenish supplies; assist with lab tasks as needed.
