Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital is hiring a Phlebotomist to join the inpatient lab team. You will collect blood specimens, process samples for analysis and ensure proper labeling. The role supports patient care and requires accurate specimen handling.

This position offers part-time, rotating shifts with per diem scheduling. Prior phlebotomy experience and certification are preferred, with opportunities to train in EPIC and grow within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain in-house blood specimens and process laboratory specimens for analysis.
• Label specimens following laboratory policy.
• Provide patient information to the appropriate caregiver.

You would be responsible to obtain in-house blood specimens, to process laboratory specimens for clinical analysis and to provide patient information to the appropriate care giver. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.

What you will do:

• Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods

• Labels all specimens following laboratory policy

• Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens

Work Hours/Shift:

• Per Diem, Various Shifts and coverage on one weekend every 12 weeks & one holiday each year.

• Must be able to work full-week, day shift to train in EPIC

• Requirements:

  Education: High school diploma.

  Certification: Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

  Experience: Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
