Job summary

MemorialCare, a nonprofit health system serving Orange and Los Angeles counties, is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Clinical Lab Services at Fountain Valley, CA. This per diem position supports patient-centric care with day shifts, and offers a $28/hour pay rate along with MemorialCare benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in the clinical laboratory and acute care setting preferred.
• Experience performing venipuncture preferred.
• Knowledge of specimen collection techniques and handling is required.
• Knowledge of current information systems preferred.
• Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and finger-stick specimen collection according to protocol.
• Ensure proper patient and specimen identification.
• Conduct pre/post-analysis of laboratory orders per department procedures.
• Provide quality laboratory service to clients, patients, physicians, and peers.
• Maintain attendance, communicate effectively, and comply with policies.
• Follow infection control policies and participate in education and training.
• Support performance improvement and data documentation activities.
