Job summary

Jefferson is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and outpatient medication needs. You will prepare and fill orders for pharmacists, replenish Pyxis machines, and monitor refrigerator temps while documenting actions taken.

Role involves counting, compounding, and repackaging medications, billing/crediting functions, and ensuring proper waste documentation. You will work with the clinical team and maintain strict aseptic IV preparation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RPT - PA registration required on hire.
• New Jersey registration within 180 days of hire and PTCB certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff per Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders from physicians for pharmacist review and dispensing.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors inventory.
• Records refrigerator temperatures and documents corrective actions.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals using established procedures.
• Distributes medications to patient areas and assists with inventory management.
• Picks up physician orders and maintains sign-out documentation for restocked items.
• Performs aseptic IV preparation and maintains IV-related competencies.
• Maintains competency with IV lab, Pyxis, McKesson Automation and CAPS.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
