Job summary

Montefiore New Rochelle is seeking a Pharmacy Intern for per diem shifts in the Bronx, NY. Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will dispense and compound prescribed medications, review orders for safety and efficacy, and assist in inventory control and patient care activities in various pharmacy areas.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile and non-sterile products, using automated dispensing systems, and providing courteous customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy and graduating in 2027 or 2028.
• Completed first professional year of pharmacy school.
• Eligible to receive a NYS pharmacy intern permit.
• Able to work weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with interpretation of medication orders and ensure correct doses.
• Use clinical information systems to retrieve patient information and print labels.
• Prepare, label and deliver medications including unit doses and parenteral products.
• Maintain accurate records and handle inventory and controlled substances with care.
• Assist customers and respond to drug information questions.
• Participate in packaging, labeling, and ambulatory prescriptions under supervision.
