Job summary

Heartland Health Center Pharmacy in Grand Island, NE seeks an experienced Pharmacist to work Per Diem (PRN). The position requires an active NE Pharmacist license and a retail pharmacy background. Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm; candidate must be available on an as-needed basis to support operations.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of experience, strong patient counseling skills, and the ability to collaborate with physicians and staff. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active NE Pharmacist license required (with no disciplinary actions).
• Bachelor's degree or Pharm.D. from an approved school of pharmacy.
• One year of pharmacist experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations for drug disbursement.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and fill drug orders.
• Provide patient information and counseling.
• May serve as alternate store leader in absence of Pharmacy Manager.
• Communicate with physicians on prescriptions.
• Dispense prescriptions and prepare I.V. admixtures (where applicable).
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
• Maintain patient medication records and inventory controls.
• Supervise pharmacy staff and technicians as needed.
• Participate in inventory control and pricing programs.
• Attend facility meetings and continued education programs.
