Job summary

VytlOne is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to work Per Diem (PRN) at Heartland Health Center Pharmacy in Grand Island, NE. The ideal candidate has a retail pharmacy background and an active NE Pharmacist license to join a team of professionals.

This role requires coverage on a flexible, as-needed basis with hours Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm, supporting patient counseling, prescriptions, and pharmaceutical care. Estimated hourly pay ranges from $65.00 to $66.00.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or Pharm. D. (preferred), from an approved school of pharmacy.
• Clear/Current NE Pharmacist License. Must not have disciplines on license with NE BOP.
• One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
• Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
• Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Ability to assume essential responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager

Responsibilities

• Interpret and fill drug orders.
• Provide patient information and counseling.
• In absence of Pharmacy Manager, may act as alternate store leader.
• Contact physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.
• Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare IV admixtures (if applicable).
• Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, and allergies.
• Maintain patients' medication records.
• Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians.
• Provide drug information to staff and patients.
• Participate in inventory control programs and pricing.
• Attend programs and meetings as required by the facility or pharmacy.
• Participate in educational programs for professional staff as necessary.
• Participate in orientation programs and staff meetings.
• Participate in activities resolving unsafe practices.
• Exemplify excellence in customer communications and service.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Report allegations to Compliance Department.
• Comply with Maxor policies and Compliance Program.
• Remain free from exclusion lists.
• Other duties as assigned
