Job summary

Baystate Health is recruiting a Per Diem Registered Nurse for the Chestnut PACU team at Chestnut Surgical Center, Springfield, MA. The role involves perioperative care for a largely pediatric population and cross-training in Motility/Endoscopy.

Responsibilities include pre-op preparation, post-op PACU care, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure safe, quality outcomes across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients in the pre-operative area for surgery.
• Provide nursing care to patients during post-surgical recovery in the PACU.
• Care for a primarily pediatric patient population, with some adult patients.
• Support both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients.
• Work within the Chestnut Surgical Center outpatient operating room environment.
• Provide safe, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience.
• Cross-train in Motility and Endoscopy.
• Collaborate with the surgical and perioperative care team to support quality patient outcomes.
