Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Chestnut PACU at Chestnut Surgical Center in Springfield, MA. The role focuses on pre-op preparation and post-op recovery for a pediatric-dominant patient population, with some adults, in a Magnet-recognized hospital.

Shifts are 10-hour and vary; schedule includes Monday through Friday with rotating days. Cross-training in Motility and Endoscopy is available to support the perioperative team and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients in the pre-operative area for surgery.
• Provide nursing care to patients in post-surgical recovery in the PACU.
• Care for a predominantly pediatric patient population, with some adult patients.
• Support both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients.
• Cross-train in Motility and Endoscopy.
• Collaborate with the surgical and perioperative care team to support quality patient outcomes.
