Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Chestnut PACU team at Chestnut Surgical Center at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. This role focuses on preparing patients pre-operatively and providing post-surgical care in a pediatric-dominant setting, with some adult patients.

You will work in a Magnet-recognized hospital, cross-training in Motility and Endoscopy, and collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• BSN preferred.
• Pediatric experience and Motility/Endoscopy-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients in the pre-operative area for surgery.
• Provide nursing care to patients during post-surgical recovery in the PACU.
• Care for a primarily pediatric patient population, with some adult patients.
• Support both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients.
• Work within the Chestnut Surgical Center outpatient operating room environment.
• Provide safe, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience.
• Cross-train in Motility and Endoscopy.
• Collaborate with the surgical and perioperative care team to support quality patient outcomes.
