Job summary

First Choice Nurses is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You will select shifts that fit your life and provide high-quality patient care in acute-care settings.

Per diem role with flexible scheduling, daily/weekly pay options, and opportunities to build a larger schedule. Requires active Virginia RN license and current BLS/ACLS, plus facility-specific credentials.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS current.
• AHA ACLS current.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test current (or within past 12 months).
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
