Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. You will select shifts that fit your life, from occasional to fuller schedules, with flexible options and daily/weekly pay.

Roles include monitoring, assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with care teams in acute-care settings. Per diem RN opportunities offer autonomy and local support from FCN’s scheduling and staffing team.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license and current BLS/ACLS required.
• 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
• Eligibility to work in hospital settings and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care within acute-care hospital environments.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapt to different hospital units and environments.
