Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is hiring experienced PCU RNs for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Enjoy flexible scheduling, choose only the shifts you want, and get paid daily or weekly with competitive per diem rates.

Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a. Eligible candidates hold a Virginia RN license, 2 years PCU experience in the last 4 years, BLS and ACLS, and are able to meet facility requirements. Vaccination or approved exemption is required.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• BLS and ACLS required; QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
