Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area, VA. Shifts include day and night options with per diem scheduling, allowing you to pick shifts that fit your schedule and earn competitive hourly pay.

Active Virginia RN license with PCU experience (2 years) is required, along with BLS, ACLS, and current vaccination status. Per diem roles offer daily/weekly pay and hospital assignments across Hampton Roads.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License
• PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years (2+ years)
• Current BLS - American Heart Association
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment for PCU patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
• Provide patient and family education
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
