Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA seeks experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. Work with day or night shifts, select shifts to fit your schedule, and enjoy per diem flexibility in leading acute care settings.

Per diem RN roles offer control over your schedule, the ability to pick up shifts as needed, and the chance to work in top hospitals throughout Hampton Roads with competitive pay and flexible daily/weekly options.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.

Education

Active Virginia RN License

Current BLS - American Heart Association

Current ACLS - American Heart Association

Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test

COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
