Job summary

The University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a Patient Transporter for per diem, part-time work. You will position, transfer, and transport patients by wheelchair, bed, or gurney across departments.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, transporting specimens, blood, equipment, medical records, medications, and transporting deceased patients when needed. Per diem schedule varies, may convert to career.

Qualifications

• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.
• Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically with acutely ill patients.
• Basic computer skills to perform data entry and access Hospital Systems.
• Ability to push, pull, lift a minimum of 150 pounds.
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and safety.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to follow healthcare Infection Control regulations and UCLA policies.
• Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Position, transfer, and transport patients to and from departments using wheelchair, bed, or gurney.
• Perform equipment maintenance and cleaning or disinfection as needed.
• Deliver and pick up specimens, blood, medical equipment, records, medications, and other items.
• Transport deceased patients to the morgue.
