Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Hospitality Associate, Patient Services to support meals for patients and staff in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes accurate patient food orders, timely tray assembly, and warm, safe dining service.

Responsibilities include coordinating with floor staff, checking patient details, and following diet cards. This position is per diem with a focus on flexible shifts and maintaining sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• Ability to perform on-the-job training required.
• Ability to do simple calculations and record keeping required.
• Ability to interact hospitably and respectfully with patients and assist with meal selection.
• Ability to work with limited direct supervision and stay on-task during shift.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with hospital staff to provide meals to patients per diet needs.
• Ensure patient information matches name, room number, and food orders.
• Assemble trays on time honoring diet cards and preferences.
• Deliver meals warm, promptly, and garnished.
• Interact with patients and solicit feedback on meals.
• Follow procedures for Late Trays within 30 minutes.
• Stock refrigerators and transfer warmers as needed.
• Prepare side dishes and receive/store orders.
• Check temperatures with cook and assist with plating.
• Research diets and allergies to ensure safe service.
• Dispose of waste and clean utensils and area after use.
• Use the Three Sink Method and operate the dish machine.
• Label and date inventory items and report concerns to supervisor.
