Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a per diem Patient Care Technician for the BP3 Advanced Acute Care Medical Transplant Unit. Schedule includes 4, 8, and 12 hour shifts on days, evenings, or nights, with a minimum of 24 hours of availability in a 4-week schedule.

No experience is required and comprehensive on-the-job training is provided. The ACE Nursing Model of Care expands nursing support duties and offers opportunities for career advancement within a supportive, safety‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs: hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals.
• Collect vital signs and daily weights.
• Perform point of care testing.
• Turn and reposition patients.
• Dressing care and Foley/IV care where appropriate.
• Transcribe and process orders; document care.
• Coordinate patient transport and ensure safety.
• Maintain unit environment in line with policies.
