Scripps Health is seeking a per diem/casual Lab Technologist at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. You will work varied weekdays, with training 2–4 weeks on both shifts, and occasional Saturdays. Position may require floating to Scripps Mercy Chula Vista as needed.

Formación

• One year of related lab experience in a large healthcare setting preferred.
• Graduation from college with a major in a natural science; or two years of college in natural sciences plus two years of experience; or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with medical terminology and basic computer systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Handle and accession surgical and outpatient tissues and cytology specimens.
• Use cryostat to cut frozen tissue sections for rapid diagnosis and stain slides.
• Use Faxitron for breast specimens to identify biopsy clips and markers.
• Assist in CT/Ultrasound/EUS/EBUS procedures to triage tissue and prepare slides.
• Assist bone marrow procedures and prepare core and slides.
• Ensure correct labeling and prevent critical patient-care errors.
