Job summary

UNC Health Care System is seeking an RN for the Preop/PACU at NC Surgical Hospital in Chapel Hill. Per diem position with 8-hour shifts, mainly days. Requires NC RN licensure and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred. Experience in PACU/ED/ICU advantageous; strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Responsibilities include delivering competent nursing care, coordinating patient care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective discharge planning and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• BLS certification required; ACLS & PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
• Participates in education, evaluation of care, and care planning for patients with complex needs.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team to promote continuity of care and patient safety.
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans.
