Job summary

Dallas Medical Center, Farmers Branch, TX, is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OTR/OTR-L) for per diem days to evaluate and treat patients with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial impairments to restore independence in daily living activities.

Join a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans, train patients in ADLs, recommend adaptive equipment, and educate families. Hours: 8:00am–4:00pm; per diem variation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate.
• National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy certification, AOTA and OTAC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess functional abilities using standardized assessments and real-world task simulations to determine the patient’s current level of independence and needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans based on the patient’s condition, goals, and discharge needs.
• Train in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, and transferring.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to improve safety and accessibility.
• Educate patients and families on proper care at home or in a rehab facility.
