Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant to join the Orthopedics department at Overlook Medical Center in Northern New Jersey. The PA will provide inpatient coverage for the spine team, with a rotating day shift schedule and cross-coverage with the joint/trauma team as needed.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in Orthopedics acute care, prior OR first assist, NJ license, and active APN/PA board certification plus BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Required Licenses: Valid New Jersey License, APN or PA.
• Required Certifications: Active board certification in the area of APN specialty or active PA board certification, BLS and ACLS.
• Required Experience: Acute Care, Orthopedics/Trauma/Spine advanced practice.
• Years of Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in Orthopedics Acute Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rounds, perform consultations, and first assist in spine cases.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and evaluate postoperative patients.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient care.
• Occasional cross-coverage with the orthopedic joint/trauma team with APPs and residents.
• Work to accommodate scheduling needs while maintaining work-life balance.
