Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Technician with expertise in operating room technology. You will assist in routine delegated functions under RN supervision and perform scrub and sterile instrument duties per guidelines.

Responsibilities include aseptic technique, setting up sterile tables, assisting surgeon with instruments, and maintaining accurate counts. You will support patient safety and assist in specimen handling, dressings, and post-procedure care as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical scrub, gowning and gloving procedures.
• Sets up sterile instrument table and prepares supplies according to operation type.
• Assists surgeon with instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies and monitors progress.
• Maintains aseptic technique and reports discrepancies.
• Assists in care of specimens and dressings and moves patient as needed.
• Prepares operative area and ensures correct sponge, needle and instrument counts.
• Positions patient and instruments to support procedure and protects patient safety.
