Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Optometrist for per diem coverage in Fontana, California. The role involves providing high‑quality optometric care, prescribing spectacles and contacts, and performing specialized testing under California licensure.

You'll work evenings and Saturdays as needed, with potential rotations to other MOBs within the Medical Center Service Area to support member access and care continuity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a California State Board‑accredited Optometry school.
• Licensed Optometrist in California; must have or obtain NPI.
• Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology and pharmacology is required.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Kaiser Permanente policies, procedures and applicable laws.
• Provide treatment of the visual system within optometric licensure, including prescribing ophthalmic spectacles, contact lenses and related aids.
• Perform specialized testing (perimetry, tonometry, orthoptics, low vision evaluation, fluorescein angiography, ocular photography).
• Maintain compliance with regulations pertaining to Optometry.
• Coordinate with Coordinating Optometrists to ensure member satisfaction and program viability.
• Work with Vision Services teams including Optical Lab and Optical Dispensing.
• Promote high-quality service and patient care; maintain courteous relations with patients and staff.
• May rotate to other MOBs within the Medical Center Service Area.
