Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for Outpatient Oncology at Morristown Medical Center. This per-diem day shift covers two weekend shifts per month, providing high-quality nursing care to adult oncology patients in an ambulatory setting, including chemotherapy administration and education.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license, ADN, and BLS; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain.

Qualifications

Active RN license in the state of practice.
ADN required; BSN preferred.
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain).
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to outpatient oncology patients, including assessment, treatment administration, and monitoring.
Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions per protocols.
Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and adverse reactions; respond appropriately.
Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, side-effect management, and follow-up care.
Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members.
Accurately document patient care, assessments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and compassionate care.
Participate in patient navigation, care coordination, and survivorship support as applicable.
