Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant - Per Diem to provide in-home occupational therapy to patients and help restore their fullest physical ability. This role supports our home health care family focused on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include following state laws, adhering to the plan of care, documenting patient responses, and instructing patients and families. Per diem position with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Must be certified and in good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy: FL
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Following all state specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the supervising OT
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants
• Observes, records, and reports to the nurse supervisor and the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes to the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
