Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved curriculum in Occupational Therapy.
• In good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
• Full knowledge of resident’s rights.
• Current, active license as Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Initiates evaluations per MD orders and payer guidelines.
• Develops and implements treatment plans for optimal functional outcomes.
• Educates staff and third-party payers on benefits and outcomes of therapy.
• Completes documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and monthly reports.
• Uses EMR and rehab systems to record patient information.
• Screens patients for therapeutic intervention and ensures safety.
• Attends continuing education and provides in-service training to staff.
• Directs and supervises assistants and rehab staff per regulations.
• Collaborates with supervisors to implement new programs and improve care.
• Maintains licensure and credentialing in good standing.
