Job summary

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking a per diem Nursing Assistant to join the team. The role offers competitive pay with up to $3 shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends, plus up to $40,000 in financial support to pursue RN education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of clerical duties and direct patient care activities as needed.
• Ensure tasks are completed efficiently to support the care team.
• Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope as per the care plan.
• Identify, observe and document patient needs and report changes to licensed personnel.
• Obtain and maintain specimen integrity per policy; transport to the lab.
• Assist with activities of daily living and linen changes; support ongoing care.
• Provide one-to-one patient safety watch as assigned.
• Process specimens and coordinate transportation to the laboratory.
• Schedule tests and communicate electronic information pertinent to the unit.
• Assist with ordering supplies and coordinating with food services for diets.
