UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Nursing Assistant I (per diem) for the Transplant Acute Care Unit 5 West. The unit handles abdominal transplant, urology, and plastic surgery cases with a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (days and nights) and at least 24 hours per month.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, monitoring, vital signs, and direct patient care under RN supervision. Certification in BLS is required, with NC N.A.

Formación

• Fluent in English and able to develop basic computer skills.
• Nursing Assistant I certification required by North Carolina.
• Six months of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide routine direct and indirect patient care under supervision.
• Assist with examinations and procedures and procure equipment during emergencies.
• Observe and document patient information and report changes to RN or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Perform vital signs, wound care, glucose checks, specimen collection, and activities of daily living as outlined in the plan of care.
• Support patient education materials and reinforce teaching from the RN or physician.
