Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for the Transplant Acute Care Unit (5 West) in Chapel Hill. This 36-hour-per-week role covers 12-hour shifts (days and nights) with weekend/holiday rotation, providing direct patient care under supervision and coordinating with an interprofessional team.

The position requires NC Nursing Assistant II licensure, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant II with NC Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required or current.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support: clean work areas, maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, change linens, stock supplies, transport patients and specimens, and orient new staff.
• Provide direct personal care: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, and vital signs; may include wound care and basic procedures.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute educational materials as requested.
