Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care within the STEP program in San Jose, CA. You will deliver RN-level care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure regulatory compliance during shifts.

Starting hourly pay ranges from $61.90 to $64.40, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus and bilingual language proficiency incentives. Per diem shifts, travel to STEP locations, and annual salary increases are offered.

Qualifications

• Active CA Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR – BLS certification.
• Bachelor's or ADN nursing degree as required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate referral and intake process.
• Assess patient needs, plan treatments, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver RN-level care on shift per regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Psychiatrist and Clinical Manager to ensure safe medication administration and standards of care.
• Participate in nursing department activities and meetings.

As the Per Diem Nurse on our team, you play a vital role in shaping each patient's care; including assessing needs, planning treatment, and evaluating outcomes with compassion and confidence.

During your shift, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality care while staying aligned with all regulatory and documentation standards. You'll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to quality improvement and patient-centered outcomes. As the Nurse on our team, you'll be a trusted clinical resource and inspire excellence in those around you.

About Step

The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca Family of Agencies located in San Jose, CA. STEP provides intensive, short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12-17, for an average of 15 days. Our goal is to reintegrate our youth into schools and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates referral and intake process
• Collects and analyzes assessment data to formulate resident care problems, individualized outcomes, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions
• Facilitates the Recreational Group for the program
• Provides all care required to be given by a RN on shift assigned
• Meets all regulatory and facility documentation standards
• Collaborates with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-up
• Collaborates with Clinical Manager to ensure health and safety, infection control, resource utilization, and clinical and rehabilitative standards of care
• Participates in nursing department, staff meetings and other facility activities

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing OR
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Active CA Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR – BLS certification
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca’ insurance policy
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Preferred

• Psychiatric Nursing experience
• Bilingual Spanish skill set
• Excellent critical-thinking, communication, & organization skills

SCHEDULE

• Per Diem; number of shifts will vary
• Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm
• Travel is required to Santa Clara STEP and at least 2 other STEP locations
• Program locations: Alameda, Contra Costa, Sonoma, Solano
