Job summary

Roxborough Memorial Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for per diem coverage in our hospital laboratory. The role involves performing waived, highly and moderately complex testing across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology and immunology, while adhering to CLIA requirements and lab procedures.

Qualified candidates will hold an ASCP-certified or equivalent credential (preferred), a relevant associate degree, and at least 3 years of hospital

Qualifications

• Current and valid State License if required by state.
• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• Associates Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in a program for MLT.
• 3 years of hospital laboratory work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, highly & moderately complex testing per CLIA 42 CFR 493.1489.
• Adhere to lab procedures for collection, processing, analysis and reporting of results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions when tests deviate.
• Perform tests using manual and automated methods in Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology & Immunology.
• Maintain instruments and equipment daily, weekly or as needed.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to release.
• May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture across age groups.
• Assist in development/maintenance of lab policies and procedures.
