Concentra, a national occupational health provider in Reno, NV, seeks a PRN Medical Assistant to support clinicians with examinations, testing, vaccinations, phlebotomy, vital signs, and front/back-office duties in a fast-paced center.

The ideal candidate has an accredited medical assistant program or relevant patient-care experience, strong patient service, and HIPAA compliance. Per diem schedule offers flexible hours and team support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with completion of an externship highly preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant, OR military medical specialist experience (must meet credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations).
• Job-Related Experience: at least six months or more of medical assistant experience; knowledge of medical procedures and terminology; working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram, respirator fit).
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergent patients.
• Prepare/assist with procedure setup and injury care; apply dressings and splints.
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered; maintain equipment and QA.
• Maintain stock, cleanliness, and calibration of devices; ensure HIPAA compliance.
